Who am I?
I am a freelance writer and editor.
I’m the oldest of five sisters and three brothers. I attended public school, Christian school, a one-room school, and home school, before graduating in 1996 — not long after my youngest brother learned how to walk.
I am a rich woman. Not only have I benefited from authors like C.S. Lewis, George McDonald, Elisabeth Elliot, and Corrie ten Boom, but I am indebted to many ordinary saints whose names you’ll never hear this side of heaven. They have all shown me Jesus.
I am living proof that God keeps His word. I spent about eight years of my life wanting to visit the land of the Bible, and wondering if it was God’s idea — and more than eight years studying and volunteering in Jerusalem. Now based in the US again, I’m the delighted aunt of five children, kitchen mentor of young women, and neighborhood instigator of tea parties for all ages.

Why Israel?
Because the Author of the Bible has a passion for place. He describes the setting of His stories in such rich, authentic detail — geography, nature, culture, climate, and all — that those stories spring to life in a whole new way when you actually go there.
Why write?
Visiting Israel was my dream. Writing was just what I did to help my homebound friends enjoy it with me.
Now I write to enable myself to see a far greater adventure: walking the Emmaus road with Jesus. I write because He deserves so much more glory! I write because that’s what He’s given me to do.
In essence, the Bible writers say, “Come, taste, and see that the Lord is good. All good. All the time.” Their words leave me with a choice: if I want, I can dive in and experience it, too.
In a way, you could call me a travel agent or a tour guide. I’ll be happy if my writing stirs you to visit the Land that makes the Bible come alive. And if what I write stirs you to start on the Emmaus road or encourages you along the way — well, there are no words to express that joy.
